Well, today was a very special day for us! Today was Baby
Graef’s anatomy ultrasound where the nurse would be able to tell us whether we
are having a son or a daughter! It felt like Christmas (or as David put it, it
felt like we were going to pick up the baby from the hospital already haha)! I
woke up several times throughout the night, feeling both excitement and anxiety
(I’m always worrying that something will be wrong with Baby Graef), and then
after we both woke up, the day seemed to take forever until it was time to go
to the ultrasound appointment!
Finally we were at the hospital and God blessed us with a
wonderful, informative nurse who performed the ultrasound. Baby Graef was adorable
as ever and pretty squirmy in there, but also very cooperative as the nurse
took tons of different photos of Baby Graef’s developing body parts. Everything
that she said was positive! At last, after about a half an hour, she asked if
we were ready for the gender! She was able to get a great shot of baby Graef’s
little tushy and …
It's a Girl! |
It’s a GIRL! We are going to have a daughter! It’s crazy how
much MORE real it becomes when you actually find out if it is one or another!
David and I are so excited about having this little girl and are so thankful
that everything looked so wonderful on the ultrasound :) After the nurse finished, she
sent the doctor in and he gave us an even more thorough review of baby Graef’s
development. He even showed us her full tummy! Everything looks normal and
beautiful and just perfect.
Thank you so much for everyone who prayed for us and this
appointment and are still praying for baby Graef! We really appreciate it and
feel so supported and loved even by the very farthest of you!
For those of you who are thoughtfully remembering how David
wanted a boy, please know that David has quite gotten over his previous hopes
for a boy and is so excited to be a daddy to this little girl :) I cannot wait to see
him be a dad.
Much love!
The Graefs
"For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother's womb.
I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully
made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in Your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them."
